Program: 4-Point / Standard

SMART Recovery’s 4-Point Program is the organization’s flagship secular program serving those with an addictive behavior, including both substance and activity/process addictions. Trained volunteer facilitators lead effective mutual support group discussions on these topics:

  1. Building and maintaining motivation
  2. Coping with urges and cravings
  3. Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  4. Living a balanced life
Related tools consistent with evidence-based motivational and cognitive behavioral theories are also offered and discussed.

Specific audiences: BIPOC, School & College

Meetings specifically intended to support those individuals who identify as BIPOC. BIPOC is commonly understood to mean Black (African American), Indigenous (Native American), and People of Color. People of Color is a term that is used to refer to any non-White identity, including Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, etc. Some individuals with non-White identities may prefer to identify as "members of the global majority."
